Small Stories From Leiden University

Almost 4 months I left the faculty wah to do research about the film in The Netherlands. Suddenly I missed the previous routine I ever did in college. Routines as a lecturer and a family atmosphere in the wake. But for the sake of a progress of the ideals I buried it for a while.

Through this, I will share some experiences during the research in the country Windmills. Actually I am beginning this program in addition to the research is to follow the Summer School program at Utrecht University, then did research at Leiden University. Since the visas late, so I just followed the course of research. But that missed the Summer School also paid off with the Autumn School, which lasted a few weeks ago at the Amsterdam University.

Although my main job to do research, but here I also have to stay abreast of several public lecture and seminar held by the university. This is a valuable opportunity for me because a lot of knowledge and experience I can. We can learn together important figures, not only from Laid en university but from parts of the university in the world. And even from within the country I had the opportunity to follow lectures Gus Mus, Din Syamsudin, Arskal Salim, Yusni Saby and others. I really feel that the knowledge from any angle feels will never run dry for review. Academic Atmospheric I feel back. 

In addition to these duties I also had the opportunity to visit and study an appeal in some places. Among them are Radio Netherlands Worldwide is an international radio stations and tv Netherlands. This radio includes five public radio stations internationally influential in the world, along with Voice of America, BBC World Service, Deutsche Welle and Radio France Internationale. In the Indonesian-language broadcasts have been on a hundred radio relay in Indonesia. From here I also had the opportunity to perform on the water in the relay directly from the radio Suara Surabaya. In addition to the radio, I also make an appeal to the HIVOS study one of the largest NGO in the Netherlands and is very influential in Europe. There are also many humanitarian programs in collaboration with institutions in Indonesia.

Leiden University where I studied, in addition to the oldest university in the Netherlands is also famous as a storehouse of knowledge about Indonesia in the Netherlands. Because here there is a library and research studies whose name KILTV under his kind LIPI Dutch kingdom. And nearly 3 / 4 catalog literature they have is about the study of Indonesia. Even we can find manuscripts, archives or photos that age hundreds of years here, which may not necessarily be found in Indonesia. They store and maintain it with very neatly. There's even a journal that published regularly special about Indonesia, which published the study here. So no one if this will always invite KILTV mahgnit for any researcher who wants to study about Indonesia. Due to the material and the available literature the researchers will be quite spoiled.

Including me, that capacity here as a researcher. Because my assessment of the Indonesian film so I'm pretty spoiled with the literature provided. The film is older with my age I can enjoy including the writings of Indonesian films. There are even movies that are nuts konteporer Indonesia people call it (sorry to call it, to borrow language film because the quality and content standards, just crushed komelakan, horror trend, not educate, chase running with mediocre results), they also archive them. 

From all that I always imagine how one day we can appreciate our work. I remember before leaving so I could watch a movie together the work of students of Faculty of Da'wah. And in fact the quality is not far behind with students here, there's time to reward, appreciate and explore the ability of our students deeper. Hopefully this could be the spirit for us all to be more to be developed again.
